Want to take a much needed holiday, but have a very small budget to work with, then we have some tips to help you along.

Most of the expense of a holidy is on getting there and back, so if you can find a cheap flight or train ticket, then you’re more than half way there.  The other big expense is the accommodation.  There are a large number of different accommodation options to look at and some are not so common, but are very economical.

Lets start with the flights – you can read about how to find a cheap flight in our cheap flight category.  It will give you a good idea of where to start and what you can do to keep costs down.  Look at some of the travel offers that are available online, it you are flexible with dates you could find yourself a fantastic holiday for a fraction of the price of normal, just because you can travel on the specific dates required.

If you find a deal, the first thing you want to look at is if you have to make your own way to the accommodation or if that is included.  Remember that although you want to go on holiday, you don’t want to land up spending money on taxi fares because you’re tired and just want to get to the hotel and relax.  This is no way to start your cheap holiday.

Look at the possibility of a full package.  These holidays don’t allow much room for personality, but they do include a lot for your money.  Before you accept an offer, just do a quick online search of the package and see what others have said about the hotel or timeshare.

Keep in mind that special days tend to have a larger price tag on it than regular ones, so you might need to book for the flight way in advance, like a few months before your travel schedule, to avail of the standard rates.
