When it comes to variety and choice, you cannot do better than to purchase online, but although we are led to believe that there are great deals to be made by buying online, we are not always informed as to where to find the best deals.

If you are looking for the best locations for cheap stuff online, there are a few go to places that you should always start with, but don´t forget to take a look at some of the great “deal of the day” sites that have sprung up of late, that can offer you up to 80% discount on products as long as you find them on the day.

The obvious best deal locations will always include auction sites such as eBay, but as this is an auction site, you have to be careful when buying that you don´t get swept away with all the excitement and land up paying much for a product that can´t be returned.  Always check to see how many other people are bidding and if the buy it now price is in line with what you want to pay, then check to see how often that product is for sale by the vendor.  Some ebayers have more than one product and if it sells well will stock a collection of them selling the off one at a time for maximum profits.

If you are looking for a deal of the day site that is reputable and has great deals, then Woot may be your next best friend.   They change their product at midday every day, only sell one item, but you can get it for an amazing discount.  Occasionally a “woot-off” is arranged where a number of different products are offered until they sell off, but there is no warning of a woot-off so you have to check back often.  A woot-off can take place twice or three times a month and can last for up to two days.

TodaysDOD is another great deal of the day site and has a collection of objects for sale for a limit time only.  Cheapstuff is also a great resource for finding great deals on electronics, video games and gadgets, but if books are where you want to make your savings, then you have to look at Gutenberg for the widest collection of free e-books and of course Amazon who have a great collection at decent prices.
